Rachel Lynn (DeWitt) Lovekamp was born and raised in Glencoe, OK. Rachel knew at an early age she wanted to care for those in need and started her nurse educational training while in high school. She went on to graduate with her LPN from Meridian Technology and then from Northern Oklahoma College with her RN. She began her career at Cushing Regional Hospital as a labor and delivery R.N. Rachel had an amazing love for caring and nurturing new mothers and their babies as they came into the world. Rachel spent 8 years as a labor and delivery nurse and then went into the home health industry to help tend to those who needed her care. Rachel continued nursing until the day she went to be with the Lord on March 29th 2018.
Besides being an outstanding nurse, Rachel also had a beautiful family. Rachel and her husband, Cory, would have celebrated their 15th year of Marriage in June 2018. Rachel and Cory have 3 beautiful children and she loved spending all her time when she wasn't nursing, being an amazing mother and wife for her family.
In honor of Rachel and her devotion to nursing, the Rachel DeWitt Lovekamp Nurse Educational Memorial Fund has been created to be awarded each spring to one graduating student of one of the following schools Glencoe High School, Morrison High School, Pawnee High School, Ripley High School or Yale High School who are pursuing educational training in a nursing field. These schools were chosen to apply for the award since this was the area Rachel worked performing home health and also where she played sports during her school days.
